国际气道管理学会（IAMS）2023年年会成功召开

The International Airway Management Society (IAMS) convened its 2023 annual meeting  

The International Airway Management Society (IAMS) successfully hosted its 2023 annual meeting, the International Airway Management Meeting 2023 (IAMM2023), on August 05-07, 2023 at Smilow Commons and Rubenstein Auditorium, Smilow Center for Translational Research, the University of Pennsylvania, 3400 Civic Center Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19104, USA. IAMM2023 was a hybrid meeting. Sixty-six international airway management experts, from 12 airway management societies and 22 countries and regions served as IAMM2023 faculty members. Twenty-four lectures in nine sessions and two keynote speeches were given at the meeting. About fifty medical professionals attended in-person meetings. Three lectures were delivered in the auditorium while most speeches were given online. The meeting was broadcasted live by Miller Voice of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine. Over 66 thousand audiences around the world spectated.   

Prof. Henry Liu, an IAMS founder, from the University of Pennsylvania, chaired this meeting. Prof. Deborah Jean Culley, an IAMS collaborator, from the University of Pennsylvania, David T. Wong, an IAMS founder, from the University of Toronto, and Yew-Weng Chan, an IAMS collaborator, from the National University of Singapore were the IAMM2023 Co-Chairs. Presidents of the World Airway Management Meeting (WAMM), Society for Airway Management (SAM), Difficult Airway Society (DAS), European Airway Management Society (EAMS), Safe Airway Society (SAS), All India Difficult Airway Association (AIDAA), Japanese Airway Management Society (JAM), and Airway Management Academy (AMA), Society for Head and Neck Anesthesia (SHANA), Africa Airway (AA), Chinese Alliance of Airway Management (CAAM), Airway Management Group of Chinese Society of Anesthesiologists (CSA) made the opening speeches.

Prof. Anil Patel from England, and Dr. Paul Baker from New Zealand, gave riveting Keynote speeches regarding “Airway-past, present & future” and “Emergency Front of Neck Access”. Enjoyable presentations and discussions delighted the audiences throughout all nine sessions and Keynote speeches.

Drs. Joshua H Atkins from the University of Pennsylvania, and Dziuba Dmytro from the Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital, won the IAMM Training Awards. Drs. Henry Liu from the University of Pennsylvania, and Xiaoyan Zhang from the South Bay Anesthesia Medical Group, won the IAMM Contribution Awards. Dr. Paul A. Baker from the University of Auckland won the Research Award. Drs. Fu-Shan Xue from the Beijing Friendship Hospital, Johannes Huitink from the Airway Management Academy, and Massimiliano Sorbello from the Policlinico San Marco University, won the Education Awards. Drs. Izumi Kawagoe from the Juntendo University, Rakesh Garg from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and Nesrine Abd El-Rahman El-Refai from Cairo University, won the IAMM Training Awards.

IAMS was founded in 2016 by 75 founding directors from 17 countries and territories. IAMS aims to promote education, training, and research in airway management and patient, with a focus on Asian countries and regions.
