Pneumoperitoneum from Perforated Duodenal Ulcer on X－ray

This is a patient with severe abdominal pain. And we have a series of chest X-rays and abdominal X-rays. And what you need to know is that on the chest X-ray the upright X-ray you can see a little bit of air under the right hemidiaphragm. That’s an important sign of pneumoperitoneum. You can also see it on the decubitus abdominal X-ray. This was a patient who had a perforated duodenal ulcer, and presented with abdominal pain and chest pain. And the diagnosis was made on the X-rays where we notice pneumoperitoneum.
