Hospitals Worldwide Webinar Series on the theme of “Facing the Challenges: Coping with Surges of Severe COVID-19 Patients in Hospital”
The COVID-19 pandemic has put extreme stress on the health care workforce in China, leading to workforce shortages as well as increased health care worker burnout, exhaustion and trauma since the Omicron surge in December 2022. Meanwhile, the case number of severely and critically ill patients with COVID-19 are high, especially the frail and vulnerable elderly patients and patients with underlying diseases.
Under the circumstances, how to make adequate preparation to avoid the situation of running out of medical supplies? How to optimize care process for these severely and critically ill patients? And what the future direction of COVID-19 pandemic and response strategies?
Since hospitals in Singopare, Hong Kong and many other countries and regions have experienced those challenges before, while hospitals in mainland China are working with those issues now, it will be great to share those experience and practice in coping with the impact of the pandemic, also, addressing these impacts as well as the underlying challenges can help us build a stronger and more resilient health care system of the future.
