Multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) have been recommended as a crucial part of best cancer care for more than 20 years. The function of an MDT in oncology is to bring together a group of specialized professionals from different fields in order to determine patients’ treatment plan. 

Mayo Clinic has the tradition of multidisciplinary care for patients since literally the inception of Mayo Clinic more than 150 years ago. So in this episode, we've invited Dr. Sikander Ailawadhi from Mayo Clinic to share his views and clinical practice of MDTs.

Sikander Ailawadhi, MD 

Hematologist, oncologist, professor of medicine at Mayo Clinic in Florida, his focus is hematologic malignancy and he also leads the International Cancer Center for Mayo Clinic.
