Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP), the largest European academic hospital group is showing at Boao CN-Healthcare Summit 2018.

Next week (April 25-28), Boao CN-Healthcare Summit 2018 will gather world-renowned hospitals’ leaders in Boao, Hainan province, south China. One of them is Martin Hirsch, CEO of Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP), the largest European academic hospital group.

Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP) not only provide high-quality medical services in France but have cooperation with many countries (nearly 40 partnership), including China. Martin Hirsch said in the video that China’s healthcare industry has made great progress in the last decade, and the Boao CN-Healthcare Summit 2018 will be a great opportunity to communicate and share experiences.

During the Boao CN-Healthcare Summit 2018, Martin Hirsch will join in the discussion on “Innovation of International Health Service Models and Opportunities in China”. He is willing to deeper the coopertaion with China's medical organizations and will also share ideas on chanllenges facing medical organizations in the next few decades.

As CEO of Greater Paris University Hospitals, the largest european academic hospital, I am very honored to attend the BO’AO CN-Heath care Meeting, and to be partner of it.

Our hospitals have a long time cooperation with Chinese authorities, and Chinese hospitals. We are very proud to have helped to set up an emergency center in Beijing for the 2008 olympic games and to have led further cooperation on emergencies, crisis and catastrophy medicine with in Beiing and ShanghaÏ hospitals. This cooperation has been renewed during the las sino-french people to people government meeting in late 2017. Our cooperation includes training and consulting programs with our Chinese partrner in different fields such as clinical trials, hospital management, antibiotic resistance, sustainable development .I amconvinced that this outstanding summit will allow us to strengthen and expand our partnerships, to learn a lot from each others,to have fruitful exchanges and I’ m very grateful to the organizers for this extraordinary invitation.

About Martin Hirsch

Martin Hirsch, former minister in the French government, is the CEO of Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP), the largest European academic hospital group, since 2013.

He gratuated from Ecole normale superieure (biology) and Ecole nationale d’administration. He also went to medical school for 5 years.

Martin Hirsch held various positions within the French administration such as member of the council of State, chief of staff of the health minister, CEO of the French food safety agency.

He was member of the French Government between 2007 and 2010 as High commissioner for the policy against poverty and High commissioner for Youth, member of the council of ministers.

At a European and international level, he was a member of several experts’ comities on health and social issues.

Martin Hirsch is the author of a dozen books related to social issues.

About Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP):

Created in 1849 to bring together Paris public hospitals, including some of the oldest in France, the Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP) now run 39 hospitals: 23 hospitals (20 for adults and 3 with intensive pediatric experience) for acute disease and 16 other hospitals, especially for the elderly.

It represents 22150 hospital beds, 1800 day hospital beds, and 1.5 million hospitalizations per year (complete and partial). They employ 90000 health professionals, including 12000 physicians.

The Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP) provide training for physicians in every medical discipline and welcome interns in nearly 900 approved departments. Among these, between 350 and 400 foreign physicians are hosted by the Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP) every year.

The Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP) have a Training institute for Healthcare managers, 17 nursing schools, 3 specialized nursing schools (one of which is an accredited American anesthesia nursing school), 2 Midwifery schools, 3 medico-technical schools (laboratory technicians in medical analyzes / hospital pharmacy technical operators, practitioners in medical electroradiology, and a rehabilitation school (physiotherapists).

The Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP): a management training at the service of a modern university medical center

The greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP) employ 400 managers, including 280 hospital directors. The senior executives carry within the Hospital Groups the managerial line of the institution and carry out the evolution of the organizations.

The Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP) have a management school specifically targeted to health professionals: the EMAMH. This school offers training opportunities for physicians, chief nursing officers and administrative executives.

The Greater Paris University Hospital (AP-HP): first clinical research center in Europe

Research is the spearhead of medical progress and the specificity of a center like the Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP). As such, AP-HP is the leading center for clinical trials in France and in Europe. The “research and innovation” component includes cancers, geriatrics, Alzheimer's disease and disability. The Greater Paris University Hospitals (AP-HP) have just created a foundation for medical research.

The AP-HP DRCD (Department of Clinical Research and Development) has contributed to 263 research projects at the national level, 102 at the regional level and 124 in its CRCs (clinical research centers) in 2015.

It conducts about 80 international protocols with 19 partner countries.

Its international activities also involve, through its private subsidiary AP-HP International, expertise in hospital organization, definition and development of the medical establishment project, assessment of equipment and maintenance needs, management and hospital management, development of quality and safety of care, information systems, health training for the human resources so much to medical, paramedical and technical aspects as well as for hospital management and the development of the foreign patients’ hosting.
